Help us rebuild our home after earthquake

My name is Betül. I am the first child of a family with 4 children residing in the Tut district of Adıyaman.. As for my family, we made a living by selling the product of our own garden. In the earthquake that shook Turkey on the 6th of February, we lost many of our relatives, neighbors, and friends. Healing our wounds will take a lot of time, but we don’t have time to grieve properly since we are facing a terrible reality each day. Unfortunately, the earthquake also took our house, which was too damaged and the government had to destroy it. Losing our house and a big part of our garden put us in a very difficult position since we are struggling to make a living. I want you to know that I'm sharing this with a deep sense of embarrassment. We need your support, in order to start rebuilding our house and at least arrange a small place where we can continue producing and selling our handmade goods.

Until today, we have managed everything on our own, making living with what we had but today we need your support. We had a home where we were born, and raised, and could seek shelter. When we were building our home (which took about 8 years to complete), we even helped our father as children by carrying sand and tiles in small bags. Every corner of our home was touched by our own hands and was filled with our hard work. Unfortunately, we lost our beloved home in an earthquake. Losing our home, where we could seek refuge, while we were still grieving the loss of our loved ones and friends, devastated us. We lost also our vineyard and garden with the flood disaster that took place in our region on March 15. We have neither a home to stay nor a garden to make a living. We lost everything. Despite everything, we are trying to pick ourselves up and start again. We've done it before, and we can do it again. We also have two younger siblings who are preparing for the university exam. We are trying to be strong to provide them with a good future and to be a source of motivation for them.
