Help Us Move to Our Miracle on El Camino!
CHAC has miraculously been donated a much-needed larger building to provide nonprofit mental health services to the students, youth and families in our community. We are planning to open for service in July at 590 West El Camino Real in Mountain View and we are requesting your support to help fund the renovation/remodeling of our new facility. The reasons for our relocation are to increase our ability to meet our current client needs and to allow for the projected future increase in service demands for the next 20 years. While the new building is largely appropriate for our needs, there are several upgrades and renovation requirements that must be accomplished to prepare for our move and future use.
For example, the current occupant of the building is a tech company that functions well with the transparency and collaboration offered by glass-walled offices and conference rooms. However, as an agency that provides counseling and therapy, confidentiality is very important for CHAC. Replacing the glass walls with private, soundproofed walls is one of the many renovations that must be made to the new building before we can perform counseling sessions.
Some more changes include things like the installation of a security system and panic alarm, re-keying of all the locks, and the installation of a new office-wide phone system. Additionally, there are some handicap accessibility renovations that must be made to the new building that are required by the City of Mountain View Building Department. The total anticipated project cost is $187,620.
We believe that helping youth and their families build external and internal assets is the most meaningful way to protect youth from high-risk behaviors while promoting the positive attitudes, skills and behaviors that will ensure academic and personal success. This new facility will enable us to continue to meet the needs of so many at-risk youth and families for many years to come.
Please consider making a one-time donation to help us achieve our goal to be prepared to help local youth and families lead healthy, productive lives for the next 20 years!
