Help us heal Pippi’s rare cancer

Our 10 yr old daughter has a rare type of cancer in her spine. We are raising funds to carry on funding her special diet, cbd oils, some DNA/cell tests, installing a water purifying pump and a new special mattress to help her be more comfortable. So far we are 50% healed on this route, if we cannot keep going then it will mean reverting to chemotherapy and that we've been told increases her chances of adult cancers, will compromise her immune system forever and likely render her infertile.

Hello, thank you for reading, my Name is Kristinna Counsell, and I'm a disabled full time mummy to two daughters one of whom has a very rare cancer in her spine.

Pippi (Aged 10 nearly 11 years) was in and out of hospital early 2016 and had many tests and a small spinal operation before finally being diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis in a vertebrae in her spine at the end of April 2016.

We have watched our child become so sick before our eyes and felt so very helpless to heal her. We were very lucky our oncologist respected our wishes to hold off on chemotherapy and steroids for as long as possible and explore every alternative first.

After many months on indomethicin and anti acids Pippi was still in a great deal of pain and added to that she was having intense headaches and being very sickly as the medications were burning her insides. After another X-ray at the end of October 2016 showed there were no changes and increasing pain in her arm meant an inconclusive secondary site. So, we took the decision to take her off all medication for a month and under the consultants permission we moved to try hemp oil.

Pippi started the hemp oil in November and moved onto cbd oil in December. We returned to the oncologist in January 2017 to have further X-rays and it is looking like the oil is working.

Along with the oil we are maintaining an organic dairy and meat limited diet. Pippi now has colour in her cheeks and seems to be blossoming. She actually had a 1" growth spurt over Christmas!

Our oncologist has said no more medications, just the CBD oil.

The purpose here is to ask you all to help us maintain this medicine and diet regime by helping fund the extra costs.

Our daughter has been in more pain than usual these last 6 weeks but it appears that is due to the bone re growing itself and destroying the LCH mass. There appears to be a 50% improvement.

Pippi has also now started to return to school and is managing 2-3 mornings a week. I was working but due to Pippi needing me and my own increasing disability I've had to give that up.

So what are we asking from you?

• On going funding help so that we can maintain Pippi's diet and CBC oil regime which currently increases our weekly cost of living by around £100 a week;
• Funding to enable us to install an at source water filtration system, currently we are buying copious amounts of bottled water. The cost for this is anticipated to be around £1000.
• Help to raise £395 to enable us to have her hair tested for analysis into her make up which will enable us to further compliment her diet to clear her system of the toxins that caused the cancer in the first place.

Any further funds will be used to get help out there for other families and children going through the same as we are.So what are we asking from you?
