Help Us Get Through COVID19

I will try to make this succinct, so please bear with me.

We owned a family business, 30 years ago, and towards the end of it, we struggled with debts with our family business. My father passed away in 2013, and we have been in debt since. Due to the complications of the business and the partners involved, we have to honour SGD$1.2million of debt that was left behind and unable to declare bankruptcy.

Since then, our family, survived by my mother, brother, sister and myself, have to sell our business, our family home and my own place to pay off the debts. We made it so far, by paying almost SGD$1million over the past 7 years with us working almost everyday, and holding 2 jobs. However, the recent COVID19 pandemic is causing an upheaval in our lives.

We were scraping by the skins of our teeth before the pandemic. Not being able to go to work means, we are not taking our usual salary home. The Circuit Breaker period has been extended to 1st of June, and its uncertainty has definitely worn us down mentally.

There is about SGD$250k more to pay back and at this point we are unsure of what we can do to stay afloat. The handout from the government is only enough for our necessities and we are unable to pay back.

We also borrowed money from relatives and friends and at this point, they are also experiencing the difficulties of the pandemic, and asked us to pay back as soon as we can.

We don't know who else we could turn to, and a friend recommended us to try a fund raising to help us get by this period of time.
