The Badger Cull is coming to Avon
The Badger cull is coming to our local area and we have busy sett surveying to find out where the Badgers are living, so we will be able to protect them during the cull.
We have identified particularly vulnerable setts that will need to be closely monitored and would like to purchase trail cameras to do this most effectively.
Please help us to reach our target to get these much needed cameras in place in time for the start of the cull - even just by donating the price of a cup of coffee will be a huge help to us and the Badgers. The price of an Acorn trail camera that sends alerts via MMS is around £150, we would hope to be able to buy 3 cameras which we will then move around the different setts we are monitoring. We will also need to buy batteries, 3 x SD cards and 3 x PAYG sim cards.
Even though the majority of the country are against the cruel Badger cull and it has been proven to be ineffective at reducing Bovine TB, the government are rolling out the cull to an even larger area this year. It will begin in just a few weeks time.
