Help Tommy Stay In College

I am a freshman at NYU pursuing the pre-med track. Without any financial aid, my parents are my only financial support. Over the last few months, the family business my parents are involved in (their main source of income) has been experiencing a financial crisis. Not only has my parents' income decreased since then, their jobs are at stake now.

As soon as I learned of my family's financial difficulties, I tried everything within my capability to reduce their burden (appealing to my school for financial aid, applying for jobs). My school offered me a $4,000 scholarship assistance recently. As much as I appreciate this scholarship, it is hardly adequate considering the horrifying $33,284 total I have to pay by next week.

I talked to a few of my college advisers about my financial issue and one of their suggested solutions is to take a semester/year off. In the worst case, I would have to consider switching school and it is my nightmare to have to leave my dream school.

If you are willing, please lend me a helping hand. Any amount will help. Please help me stay in college.
