Hello World!

My name is Lila Ivy Luna Anderson. I am 4 days old and I have (Tetraology of Fallot (TOF) with Pulmonary Atresia). Tomorrow, thanks to modern technology and the incredible staff @SeattleChildrensHospital, I will undergo the first of an unknown number of open heart surgeries that will change the course of my family's life forever.

Speaking of my family...they are AMAZING. Let me introduce them to you:

My sister Aria (6), who can read books that even my 35-year old aunt can't understand.

My brother Porter (5), whose picture should go after the dictionary definition of "Cheese" (as in "Say Cheese!").

My incredible Mommy and Daddy, Nick and Aly Anderson.

And my puppy dogs, Moose & Hank.

The first year of my life is going to be incredibly tough. Within the first eight months I will have to have at least two major surgeries. While I am in the hospital my mom will be sleeping on a cot in my room and my dad will need to take unpaid leave from his job. In addition, family, friends and sitters will have to take care of my brother and sister while my Mommy and Daddy take care of me.

This is a lot...emotionally and financially. Between the tests, the surgeries and the evaluations, costs add up quickly and my family is in need of support.

I can't wait to read as well as Aria, laugh as much as Porter, and have my mom create art like this for me.
