Campaign Story
Dear reader thank you for taking your time to read this.
A huge project is underway to save the citizens of Sri Lanka who have suffered the effects of the recent cyclone.
What’s happened?
SinceNovember 2017 Sri Lanka has been experiencing sever weather conditions.According to the country’s Disaster Management Centre (DMC), as of 02 December, more than 106,000 people in 16 districts across the country had been affected as well as over 30,000 homes destroyed.
Why I am involved
I am in a project to help the hundreds of thousands of people who have been affected by the recent flash floods and intense rainfall by cyclone Ockhi.I personally believe in helping those in need.I want to be able to see first hand how I/We can help these people.I believe action should be taken as soon as possible before any more landslides or any other issues such as diseases occur that could risk any more lives.
How?
I am in organizations such as “Z club” (An organization mainly run by the youth of Sri Lanka to raise funds and create a better place to live in for everyone) [I have included photos of previous projects done by us which were giving toys to children of Syrian refugees and hosting a party for street children].
e have partnered up with international schools and other institutions to raise to help the displaced.
I intend to contribute to this cause by using this money to buy
1.Dry rations
(Dry Ration & Condiments, Fruits & Vegetables, Chicken, Eggs,Meat, Fish, Milk Products And Sweets, Bakery Items
2.Pads (feminine and baby hygiene)
(Approximately 600&1000 per pack)
1-2 packets per person
3.Clean bed sheets
(These are approximately 1500rs each, 1 per person)
4.New clothes
5.Towels
(Approximately 300rs each 2 per person)
6.Medical supplies
Examples;Disinfectants,Bandages,Plasters,anadol.
7.Clean water
(1 litre is 100rs,5 per person.Additional 4 for families)
Which will then be donated to the people as soon as possible.
Why you should get involved
I wanted to do this charity project with my own funds but to make a greater impact on the community I need a large crowd to back me. We can reach a lot more people who have lost their homes, loved ones and much more with these donations.
I am making this fund so I can personally see that the people affected actually recieve help as fast as possible. With the supplies I personally will take a trip with other members and hand them face to face.I want to help with these people and know they are accounted for without money slipping away for personal spending within other organizations.
We in Sri Lanka need you the reader to help us fix the damages.
As the person I admire most once said
“The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer.”-Mahatma Gandhi
