Campaign Story
At 33/34 with 3 young kids and 1 kid along the way, Aidah and Akhbar face tough circumstances.
Last Nov, Akhbar was diagnosed with Stage 4 Nasopharyngeal (Nasal) Cancer. The tumour in the back of the nose has spread to his jaw, back of neck, throat, and left & right of neck.
It came as a rude shock which sent hum into a mild depression, as he had to pause work and undergo chemotherapy. The physical and mental pain is intense, and it led him to feel it's better to just leave this world.
Yet, Aidah has been incredibly strong through this ordeal, breaking the news to their eldest son (who is the only one who understands), and taking care of the family's needs, while encouraging Akhbar to fight on.
Akhbar is now undergoing treatment with a hope of recovery, but the side effects are prolonged (deafness/numbness, vertigo, sore throat and light headedness).
What help do they need? How is the target calculated?
Akhbar was a Prime mover driver, driving a double-decker container, working 12hr a day, worked for 12 years ever since their firstborn
It is not possible for him to go back to his job currently. His MC for now is until Dec 2024. Based on how the cancer progresses, he might need more chemo then
Aidah is pregnant with her 4th child and has to take care of the other kids, making it hard to work too. She intends to work in 2025 when the baby is more settled.
Their estimated expenses (household, food, medical, education, transport, etc) is about 3k per month. Hence, from now will Dec, it would be helpful to have about 25k to tide them through.
(We hit the original target! Feel free to donate extra if you'll like :)) It will still serve as a buffer)
I've connected the couple to good financial advisors to spend the money wisely and also to advisors on finding cost effective supplies from gov schemes. Rest assured the money will be properly managed
This sum will help pay for medical and also relieve the mental pressure the family is facing, so that they can focus on the recovery.
Once again, thank you for reading till here and for considering donating. If you can't at this point, it's ok, feel free to share it!
