Campaign Story
I am a disabled combat veteran. I was injured during Iraqi freedom in 2003. I retired from the Air Force in 2008. I managed my injury as best as I could until I had a stroke in 2014. After that my world turned upside down. I wasn't able to work anymore, and I felt like I had no purpose and no direction. I found the sport of handcycling, but still struggled with being mentally challenged. Last year I discovered the sport of paraclimbing and fell in love with it. It is a combination of a physical challenge to get up the wall, but it is also a mental challenge in being able to figure out how to get your body to the top of the wall.
I went to the paracliimbing national competition this year and made it to finals. My ranking qualified me for an opportunity to go to the IFSC paraclimbing world cup series.
Your contributions will help me attend the world cup competitions and continue to experience the freedom that paraclimbing gives me.
