Help Save Zakk

Update posted by Jessica Harvey On Feb 12, 2014

Zakk is home! He has been eating on his own for the past few days and starting tomorrow we will begin re-introducing his normal kibble (softened, of course) to his current boiled chicken and rice.

He had a check up with his Dr yesterday and now has an appointment Friday to have his staples out. The doctor is very happy with his healing thus far and has very high hopes for his future, post surgery.

We are very thankful for our supporters and are even more grateful to have our boy home with us!

The vet bill came in just under $18,000 due to the 25 units he required of the blood transfusions; about $8,000 was just plasma. We borrowed 1/3 of the total, had a large donation from an animal loving trust fund and of course, our friends, family and other supporters that helped us get another 1/3 of his bill paid. We still have more than $6,000 to be paid and will continue to sell what we can to pay this hefty bill off.

We are extremely grateful for the doctors, techs and really all the staff at Peak Veterinary Referral Center. They saved our baby, they took care of him, and we would love to pay this bill off as soon as possible to truly show our gratitude.

We will be creating a facebook page for Zakk -- after all of this, we have decided he more than deserves one! Also, we want to be able to update all of his supporters.

I can be reached anytime at [email protected]; if you don't have facebook, or just to check in on Zakk via email please feel free.

My wife and I appreciate your sharing, your donations, your thoughts, your prayers and your ultimate support and help to keep our baby boy here with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Zakk is coming home, tomorrow, February 7th! He has been nursed back to his fuzzy, sweet and snuggly self and we are more than excited to be bringing him home! Thank you all for your prayers, donations and support!  Our bill after all donations, discounts and liquidation payments is just over $6,000. A lot to think of but when we look into those bulldog eyes -- it's all worth it. Please know that every penny gained on this website is a penny spent on the wonderful care given to him at Peak Veterinary Referral Center. They saved our dogs life, medically, and our dog-loving support system (here) has saved his and our lives, financially.

We will forever be in debted to your generosity,

Jess & Vicki Harvey

Jess & Vicki, you have helped support my "business" so much over the last few months and this is the least I can do to help you in return! Praying for your sweet boy!
