HELP SAVE A LIFE TODAY

Hi good people of Singapore (& the world),

I've never done this before but this is a last resort to help out a friend in need. I have no other way but to state her situation as it is.
My friend, Wong, is in dire need of money. Her family is in Malaysia while she's working here to support them. Her dad has just lost his job, mom has been hospitalised, brother has been left behind with a son & whole lot of debt by his cheating ex-wife.

Few years back, in other to better the lives of her family, Wong bought a house in the outskirts of KL, taking a bank loan and the repayment has proved to be way out of her abilities to cover, which she did not think through at that point in time. Wong is not highly educated, and just made a decision to purchase the house out of a pure heart of wanting to be filial towards her parents.

Wong's salary in SG is 2.5k, of which, she spends $1650 on the monthly bank loan, insurance (herself & parents) & allowance for parents, $100 on phone bill, $550 for her room rental. After deducting CPF, she's left with a mere $75 a month. Because of circumstances, Wong has borrowed money from some friends to help her family tide through this difficult time. However, she is unable to pay off her friends now, who has been hounding her to pay them back.

The alternative is to default payment to the Malaysian bank and allow them to take back the house, but this would mean she'd have to declare bankruptcy and leave SG, which would eat up her conscience of not being able to repay her debt to her friends.

Wong is currently working 2 jobs (day and night shifts!), and she has since shared with me that she really is so lost and desperate she may end up doing something silly, so that her insurance payout can be used to repay loans and provide a 'better life' for her family. That was when I decided, I should try to do something for her (I've lent her money as well). I believe no matter how dire one's circumstances are, there should be a way out! Of course, all these words are easy for me to say, because I'm not the one in suffering & pain.

Wong is suffering from depression, she feels like she's let everyone down, and life isn't worth living anymore. Please, I appeal to all you kind people who are reading this... $5 may not seem like much to us (perhaps just enough to get a bubble tea?), but it makes a whole lot of difference to somebody... you could be their glimmer of hope in this difficult time. Please, if you can, spare $5 or more, to spread some positivity, and help a fellow human being in need...

She may has made some stupid choices in life, we all have, but we all deserve a second chance to learn from it. She's initially afraid to let me post as a plea for help, but agreed since she has nothing to lose anymore... Depression is real, it is a silent killer. I really do not want to lose a friend to this...

This is my very small way of helping her..in whatever capacity I can.
