Help Santa Get His Sleigh

Hello true believers! 

I am the Head Elf in Santa's workshop and I have a project that I need your help with! Santa has his sights set on a new sleigh for next season and would like your help to bring it to its former glory. His new dream sleigh is a 1959 Ford C-550 Rescue Fire Truck.

A little about the truck:

It is a 1959 Ford C-550 Custom Cab rescue fire truck that was built for the Mount Vernon Fire Department by West Street Carriage in Seattle, WA. The coachbuilder’s location was where the current Seattle Space Needle sits. It was in service from 1959/60 to 1993. It was then taken out of service and given to the Mount Vernon parks department and used as a mobile playground for several years. Since then it has been passed through a few hands and now sits in its current location. 

What it will be used for:

Santa will be using this for many local community events to the greater Washington area. It will be used in various local parades, fundraising and community events, photo opportunities and grand entrances to his many public appearances.  It will also be used in the off-season for Safe Kids, family and various other events he regularly participates in. It will be a key part of reminding everyone what it is like to believe in something special and our goal is to bring smiles to all who see it and make the difference in the lives of others. 

How the funds will be used:

We have big plans for this sleigh! We would use the funds for purchasing and restoring it to its original glory, as well as make a few key improvements. We would like to have it torn down, repaired and re-sprayed to its beautiful original red color. We would like to have the chrome re-chromed, new tires put on, electrical updated, canvas top replaced, seats reupholstered, flooring repaired/replaced, make sure all lights and sirens work and make sure all mechanical aspects are fully operational. We want to make it as beautiful as it once was as well as make it safe and fun for all those that ride on it.
