Reported Thursday(Nov. 15th) on the morning news is there is a dumpsite set up on a parking lot that at this time covers what is 10 football fields, 2 stories high, and weighs more than the Empire State building. These are the belongings of people who have been able to go back to their homes. Imagine what it's going to be like when people who haven't been able to go back to their homes finally do. Imagine what it must be like for these people to see the piles upon piles of trash and know that their memories and belongings are there.
They need massive help getting their lives together and a lot of it is immediate. They need food, water, clothes, toiletries like soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper. The government need to help them now with electricity and water. But everything takes time and the further in time from when this happened, people tend to get back to their lives and these people get forgotten. This is like a death to them. But, thank goodness for groups like the Tunnel To Towers Foundation and the NYC Trucks who provide hot meals.
Monies that come in by Tuesday, November 20th will go to help feed people for Thanksgiving. Monies coming in after Tuesday will go to get people the essentials they need and maybe some toys for the children who also lost everuthing. The children need some kind of Christmas.
Usually I'm sending monies to Wounded Warriors and the Smile Train (provides free surgeries for children with cleft palates) but right now I'm devoting my time to helping fellow Americans and not let them be forgotten.
So, all I can ask of you is: PLEASE HELP!
