Campaign Story
On Friday the 3rd of January our beloved Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary was devastated by the tragic Kangaroo Island bushfires. 25,000 koalas of the island’s population has been estimated to have perished. Our 5,000 acre wildlife sanctuary was home to thousands of native wildlife animals including our much loved population of koalas. Our Koala Walk, which was only 200 metres, was home to 100 koalas including newborn joeys. We are truly devastated to have lost our sanctuary and wildlife. Their wild and free home. All our buildings and infrastructure have also been decimated. The damage is still being assessed. We need your help to rebuild our grounds and regenerate the vegetation for the wildlife that survived. We need to recreate the biodiversity that has been lost, and give our wildlife a home once again. The Kangaroo Island Wildlife park GoGetFunding page is currently raising much needed funds for the immediate treatment of animals affected from all over the island. We are so grateful to them. Our GoGetFunding fund will be for the next stage. To help the West end of Kangaroo Island thrive again and become home once more for our wildlife. This sanctuary and fund is for their future home. Thank you so much, Leslie Brown / Hanson Bay
The koala plush toy is given to those who love the site and to those who share it.
In addition, those who gave the most donations and helped collect donations in the wildlife park on kangaroo island will be placed on the glory board.
Thank you so much, Leslie Brown / Hanson Bay
