So, our sweet, beautiful, boysterous, lovable, cuddly, beloved 3 yr old Boston Terrier Brody was hospitalized 9/22/14 and rushed into emergency surgery due to a blockage. Turned out he had an obstruction which perforated his intestine forcing the vet to remove a portion of his intestine. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of his issues. He is STILL hospitalized, and our original estimated maximum bill of $4,300 has now reached $6,700 (as of day end 9/26/14), with no end in sight. He has ongoing issues (i.e. regurgitation, infected incision, etc.) and the vets aren't comfortable sending him home yet, therefore the charges accumulate by the day (to a tune of $1k-2k per day). We don't know what to do at this point? :(
Putting him down doesn't seem fair given how young he is, and the fact that he has a heart of PURE GOLD and... anyway, that just doesn't seem like the answer. But, we are a young family, and never could have forseen such an unbelievable financial burden as this. I know everyone has their own burdens, and by no means are we asking for others to pay all of our bill, etc. I HATE having to put it out there at all, but he's such a good boy and we are feeling lost and a little scared. So, if you choose to help, know we are BEYOND grateful! Thanks in advance and God bless you and yours.
