Hello!
My name is Na'ama Or, and I'm in my Senior year of high school. I'm a classic NCSYer ( An Orthodox Jewish youth group) - president of my (tiny) chapter, obsessed with shabbatons (weekend events), and yearning to finally get a real education about my religion in the Jewish homeland of Israel through an accredited seminary. I go to public school, and they aren't really any formal oppurtunities for me to experience Jewish Education.
But why does Jewish Education matter?
Because it will answer fundamental questions of our faith - and begn to explain why we do some of the crazy things we do. Because it will prepare me to live a life according to my values and beliefs, and make the world a better place by doing so. Because it will give me the backgrounds, tools to enhance my Jewish community and the Jewish Community as a whole, and to continue the Mesorah - transmission of education that has been passed on for generations.
Jewish education matters because the survival of the Jewish people matters.
I can assure you that I am working very hard to make this dream a reality, but I can't do it without your help.
I would completely and heartfeltly appreciate you can contribute.
