HELP MY WIFE TO EXTEND HER LIFE – FIGHT CANCER (stage 4B)

Dear everyone,

My 34 years old wife and myself was planning and expecting our first baby early this year. Our dream will never come true as she has been diagnosed with cervical cancer which advanced as stage 4B due to lymph node metastasis in March 2019. It is a big hit to us as there was no symptoms at all. Doctor said her condition was extremely critical as malignant tumors spread rapidly from pelvis lymph node to neck lymph node (and it was in significant size already) in just 3 weeks, as per the doctor, she might not be able to live longer than a year in case chemo shot doesn’t work well in her body.

Treatment begin in Apr 2019 -
My wife was fighting against time, she need to have 8 times combine treatment (target + chemotherapy). However she cannot afford the long waiting time in public hospital and therefore started her first 3 combine treatment in private hospital, it was approximately HKD 70,000 each time. After that, she returned to public hospital to continue her treatments, she had the rest 5 treatments in public hospital which she didn’t need to pay for the chemo but HKD 22,600 each time for the self-financed target therapy.

Good news after chemo treatments -
Chemo treatments work well in her body therefore doctor suggested we shouldn’t stop the treatment after chemo, we should be more aggressive to follow up with radiotherapy. Originally, treatment plan only consists of 6-8 chemo shots plus target therapy. The latest PET CT performed in August 2019 shown most of her tumors are getting less active and shrunk, therefore doctor suggested we should be more aggressive, to follow up with radiation treatment in hope to extend stable period of cancer cell. Her body parts included pelvis, abdomen and neck areas where tumors still exist should apply radiation treatment. However, traditional machines being used in public hospital can only do 1 part of body each time due to constraint of machine, so doctor doesn’t agree to apply radiation on all of the parts on her body which side effects are consider to be more severe and her current health condition might not able to take, she is very weak now after the chemo.

She is only 34 therefore we don’t want to stop here and give up the chance to extend her life. One of the option is apply radiation treatment by Tomotherapy, which is a more advanced radiation machine with lesser side effects and she can apply radiation on all of the required parts in her body. It’s the best option to help her, however this machine is not available in public hospital and even the cheapest private hospital will need approximately HKD 400,000 for my wife’s case due to complexity.

I am knocking your kind hearts for any help on the expense for her further treatment, because we have already spent approx. HKD 500,000 for checking, testing and treatment of her illness, which is all of our savings. And we have no income now as I quit my job 6 months ago in order to take care of her once we knew she got cancer, and I was so afraid that it might be her last moment, therefore I quit my job to spend more time with her. We are pleased to know radiation treatment can help to extend her life but the radiation treatment fee is really challenging for us. Besides that, she will also need to continue the self-financed target treatment every 3 weeks, that means we need to spend HKD22,600 every 3 weeks.

The positive reaction of chemo to the cancer bring the first joyful time to us in these 6 months, and my wife is expecting radiation treatment can save her so she can still complete the tasks on her to-do-list. I hope that you could help me to save her life, any help would be much appreciated.
