Campaign Story
My name is Dennis Natividad and I currenly live in Cebu City for work. My sister Erwina Natividad , 42 years old, from Los Baños, Laguna was confined in St. Jude Family Hospital last December 2020 due to low hemoglobin. The doctor thought that its just due to stress and lack of sleep. She had blood transfusion.
February 6-12, 2021, she was admitted at Los Baños Doctors Hospital due to severe anemia requiring blood transfusion again. She has 2 episodes of melena prior to admission and experienced abdominal pain, shortness of breath and generalized body weakness. She presented with pallor, slightly enlarged soft abdomen with palpable liver and spleen. Her complete blood count showed pancytopenia ( decreased red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets) with notes of blasts and nucleated red blood cells on the periperhal blood smear. Bone marrow specimen sent for basic leukemia panel flow cytometry is consistent with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML).
My sister has to undergo chemotherapy consisting of 6 sessions a month. She also needs supportive treatment like blood transfusion, Filgrastim, Epoietin alfa and intravenous antibiotics.

We lost the battle on April 22,2021

Chemotheraphy Still Not Started 4/20/2021

Last week, she was about to have thoracentesis to remove the fluids on her lungs. It was also found out that she has blood infection. Antibiotics was given. Update posted by Dennis Nestor Natividad at 03:02 amMarch 15, at around 7PM, my sister was rushed in Los Baños Doctor’s Hospital because her hemoglobin went down to 4. The doctor said that it will reoccur because her AML is still not treated.
