For the first year of his life Victor was in constant pain and we didn't know why, then on 1st February 2017 he was diagnosed as having a rare Food Allergy known as FPIES, (Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome), meaning that when he eats certain Protein Rich Foods he has an Allergic Reaction, but unlike ordinary Allergic Reactions which generally result in a rash and itching, FPIES Allergies cause Vomiting, severe Stomach Pains due to the Intestines becoming inflamed and swollen, Diarrhoea, or if the reaction is severe enough Constipation and Internal Bleeding, (due to the Intestinal Swelling and Dehydration), resulting in Blood Stained Poo, Black Lines under his eyes, (making him look like he has 2 black eyes), Bloating, Wind, Reflux, and Behavioural Problems because he doesn't understand why he is in so much pain.

During an FPIES Reaction he won't eat or drink and therefore risks becoming Dehydrated meaning that we have to take him to A&E every time he has a reaction just in case he becomes Dehydrated, he screams for hours at a time because of the pain he is suffering, and it is often 3am before the pain subsides enough for him to be able to sleep.

Unlike other types of Allergies, he can't take Anti-Histamines such as Piriton to alleviate the symptoms, he just has to wait until the symptoms subside by themselves, and there is no way to know which foods he will react to other than to give him the food and then wait and see if he reacts, (this type of Allergy does not show up in the traditional "Prick Test" currently used for Allergy Detection ).

So far we have discovered that Victor is Allergic to Milk, Soya, Rice, Nuts, Carrots, Cocoa, and Apples. But there are many more foods that he hasn't even tried yet, and therefore many more potential Allergy Reactions to come.

Because of his Allergies he can only eat certain foods, but these foods are extremely expensive, (£3.80 just for a very small loaf of Bread, for example), his Mum is on Benefits, I have no income of my own, and my Partner is on a low wage, so neither my Partner nor myself can help Victor's Mum to buy the foods he needs to keep him healthy and pain-free.

Every time that Victor has to go to A&E or has a Hospital Appointment it costs us £8 for either the Car Park or the Bus Fare which works out extremely expensive over time, in February 2017, for example, we had to take Victor to either A&E or Hospital Appointments on 25 of the 28 days, that's £200 travel expenses in just one month, other months are better, sometimes we only need 1 or 2 A&E or Hospital Visits, but we don't know which months are going to be bad like February was.

The Consultants have told us that most FPIES Babies grow out of it by the time they are 5 years old, we are hoping that Victor will be one of the lucky ones and will grow out of it.

If he doesn't grow out of it, once he is in School, his mum will be able to get a job to support his needs from that point on.

Please Donate if you are able to, no matter how big or small the amount, every little bit helps, your Donation will not only help Victor, it will help Scientists and Doctors to find out more about FPIES and maybe one day Babies like Victor won't have to suffer this debilitating painful condition.

Thank You kindly for your support.

More Failure.

We are having a lot of setbacks with Victor right now, since suspending the Chicken Trial he is refusing to eat anything, even the foods that he is okay with, on a few days we thought we had managed to get him to eat something only to find that, although

Success and Failure.

We are over the moon with this success. It was really bad, one of the worst reactions he has ever had, the only other food that he has reacted this badly to was Rice, we were literally up all night with him screaming in pain and vomiting. We are trialing him with. . . . .
