Campaign Story
Dear world, I am organizing this campaign on behalf of Nour Mamdouh Mohammad Jubas, a promising young Palestinian woman from Gaza, who is sending this message in the hope of saving her family from death. Below are her words:
I, Nour, am writing to you today with a heavy and sad heart, but at the same time full of hope that with your urgent humanitarian support, we can save my family, which is falling under the scourge of war in the Gaza Strip and is living in a tragic situation, in addition to the unimaginable dangers and challenges that face them after the complete destruction of my family's home, property, and resources. They are now sleeping in tents in the cold.
We hope that you will help us overcome this ordeal and save and protect my family's lives. Your generous support is the only opportunity for my family to live in security and peace. It will allow my sick father in the southern Gaza Strip to reach dialysis centers in Egypt and start anew.
A few days after the start of the war on Gaza and the besiegement of the hospitals, the dialysis machines broke down, and my father's daily suffering increased. We were unable to secure medicines that had become prohibitively expensive and unavailable, which led to a worsening of his health condition, and the number of scheduled dialysis sessions was reduced from four to one a week due to the electricity crisis, which threatens his life.
I believe in all the values of humanity and solidarity, and that together we can make a difference in the lives of my father and my family, which is suffering from war and displacement. We are now living in tents near the Egyptian-Palestinian border after the war forced us to leave the area in which we lived in the Al-Shuja’a neighborhood in the city of Gaza.
It was very sad and painful. We lived through very difficult days, and we still suffer from the lack of all basic necessities of life. We had a five-story house, and I lived with my family in safety, but the house was bombed and we lost everything, and the place is no longer fit for living. The war stole all happiness from my family, and turned it into sorrows and eliminated hope. It made life very sad, and we are now dispersed and without a home, in addition to the loss of a large number of my family members and loved ones as a result of this crazy war, between the killed and wounded.
Before October 7, 2023, I lived with 9 siblings, my father and my mother. We lived safely and happily. I finished high school with distinction and obtained a scholarship to study medicine at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, but the war and my economic circumstances prevented me from reaching the university.
Along with seeking medical treatment for my father, I want to go to Egypt and join the university like the rest of my classmates. But sadly we are not able to travel due to the high cost required to pay for passage out of Gaza, and my family consists of a large number of people. I am afraid for all of them, and I especially hope that my father will be evacuated urgently and quickly.
We urgently need you to stand by us, as every participation and donation brings us closer to saving the life of my father, who suffers from kidney failure, and preserving the health of my mother, whose condition worsened during the war, as she suffers from chronic health problems and now has been decimated by malnutrition and the scarcity of medications allocated to her. Your support will also enable me to find a new home for my family and give them the opportunity to rebuild hope and life again. In addition, it will open the way for me as a first step towards completing my university studies so that I can become a “doctor of the future” and bear the responsibility of always being by the side of patients until full recovery.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, understanding, support, and assistance to me during these difficult and harsh times.
[Note: The first $20,000 raised will go to pay the passage for four family members our of Gaza. Any additional amount will support medical and living expenses in Egypt or another country].
Milestones
1/1
1. Passage out of Gaza for four...
This is the bare minimum amount needed to pay passage out of Gaza. The remaining amount raised will go to medical expenses and living expenses, as the family has lost everything.

The situation is still critical
Update posted by Abby Sewell at 06:13 amThank you so much to all who have donated and shared so far. It means a lot to the family. We need to keep going as thus far we have only raised enough to evacuate one person, and the situation in Gaza is growing even more dire with the Israeli

Update posted by Abby Sewell at 07:31 amThanks so much to all who have donated! If you can, please share this campaign in your networks as we still have a long way to go, and the longer it takes, the worse the situation in Gaza becomes and the more expensive the cost of evacuation becomes. Sharing really
