Help my chronically ill friend pay for her medication

This is the first time I have attempted this but I can't sit here and witness someone wither away because she is being taken advantage of.

My friend is chronically ill, suffers from migraines, fits, substantial pain, blackouts to name but a few symptoms! She has mentioned that she fits some of the symptoms of Progressive Myoclonus Epilepsy.

She has to use medicine just to exist because of her critical condition. I can also appreciate how hard things because I have a chronic condition which hinders my life, but not as much as hers. I live in the UK and get subsidised NHS health costs, she lives in the USA so there is no subsidy!!

Her family refuse to help her.

Her "friends" take advantage of her kindness.

She sells her possessions daily just to pay to exist! She has a restricted diet because of her critical state and cannot work enough to cover her own living expenses plus pets which give her some form of comfort.

I live on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean and feel helpless, I can't witness her fade away!

Can anyone help? Even if it is only $5 to cover a bit of food or pay towards her vital medicines she has to take.
