HELP Mommy Gemma to fund her Open Heart Surgery

A blessed day to all!

My name is Gemma Gonzales, 40 years old, from Philippines. I have a Congenital Heart Disease. In 2007, I gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and I considered him as a miracle baby since it is very dangerous in my condition to bear a child. I become a full time mom and barely think about my condition anymore since all my attention has been focused to my family. Later on, my son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and needed a full time care since he is a non verbal kid. My husband is the only one working and supporting us financially.

Then the Covid-19 global pandemic happens, everything becomes limited and inaccessible. The struggle doubled for I have to be full time in providing all the online therapy class and intervention for my child, for without it, it may worsen his behaviour which will be more hard specially that he is more taller and bigger than me now.

In the last quarter of the year 2021, I experienced severe pain, hard/loss of breath, severe palpitation and I can’t sleep at night. I was hesitant at first to go to a doctor coz few years ago, a doctor told me that I won’t be able to reach 40 because of my condition. Along the way I have met a very good doctor and he told me that my condition is still curable; I should not lose hope and cling to the Lord’s promise for the Lord gave us life and He is the only one who has the right to take it away from us.

I visited a cardiologist then and the doctor told me that my heart condition is Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) with Severe Tricuspid, and since then I have been taking multiple medicine just to make me feel better. Those medicines are the only way to make me feel better so she advised me to have an immediate open heart surgery.

I have inquired to the Philippine Heart Center for operation, and they have estimated amounting to 600k to 700k pesos (USD12,000 to USD 14,000) because they will repair 3 parts on my heart. I won’t be able to get my schedule unless I can deposit the whole amount. This amount is very hard for us to raise since my husband is the only one working, and aside from my condition with lots of medication we also have a child needing intervention and therapy to have at least better behaviour.

To everyone one reading this, I am knocking on your good heart, anything and everything is highly appreciated. All proceeds will be put to my medical expenses. We are looking forward to be schedule by the 4th week of March 2022. For now, I am scheduled for some minor laboratories and I will do my best to keep this paged updated as things progress.
