Help Mimo’s fractured leg!

Update posted by Agnes Emily Annie Chain On Jan 22, 2017

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay in updates on this page, we've been updating mimo's instagram account (m.imox) :P

The campaign has ended and we would like to say a big heartfelt thank you to all of you who have helped us! The fund-raised sum has really lightened the load of the surgery costs and the load on our family. No words can express the warm gratitude we felt, receiving such immense help from family, friends and even kind souls out there whom supported mimo, Thank you!

Here's what's been happening:

For the past few days, Mimo has been recuperating at home with her cast after her surgery.

On the 17th of Jan, we had a revisit back to Dr.Landon. Mimo is healing up well and the bandages were removed to allow the wound to 'breathe' , heal up more and prevent more sores due to the constant rubbing of the bandage against her skin.

Stiches will remain on for another week ... but i'm sure she's feeling much more comfortable without the thick bandage!

lying in the beanbag at home..just lying down....

Had to make a makeshift pen for her to stay put in because she'll try to walk here and there around the house. Sorry mimo, hang in there for another few more days..Doctor's order: "dont let her walk around too much, she needs to be in quiet confinement for her bones to heal".

We will be visiting Dr Landon again next Tuesday (24th Jan 17) to remove the stitches. After which, she will hopefully be able to touch water, take a nice bath and get clearance to start on some hydrotherapy to improve the function of her leg.

We will still be updating the page here as often as possible and will be posting details of the accounting for the funds raised in the next couple of days. In the meantime, Happy Chinese New Year! :D

Hello everyone,
After a night of observation at Dr Landon, Mimo seems to be doing fine so she was discharged! Dr Landon and his team even tied a ribbon on her as a gift for discharge :3.

We will visit them back again in 5 days to remove the bandage and in 14 days to remove the stitches. Meanwhile, no running or jumping or moving about too much for mimo for the next 8 weeks to fully let her bones heal.

Unfortunately, because of a delay in treatment they foresee that the joints will be a little stiff, but Dr Landon has advised us that with a period of hydrotherapy- swimming (dog paddling) in a tub at home to exercise her joints, Mimo should be able to recover back!

On the way back home, she was too tired :P (falling asleep in my mothers arms)

As mentioned in the previous update, here is the official invoice receipt from Landon specialist:

I have updated the campaigns total fundraising amount! A big heartfelt thank you to every single one who've supported this campaign for Mimo. :') With this total amount that we've got, it has certainly lightened the load of the surgery costs! My family and I are really touched by everyone's support.

This morning Mimo hiding cause she didnt want to go out. :P

Hello Everyone, we have an update!

This morning we had a consultation with Landon specialist at 10am. Mimo would be going through surgery to place a metal plate and a screw to join her bone backs. The surgery procedure estimated cost is around $5500 SGD.

Heres a insert of a rough explanation of her surgery from what was explained to us!
(I hope it isnt hard to understand, I tried my best)

Dr Landon says that he will try his best to finish up the operation and post-op observation so that we can bring her home by tonight or tomorrow morning so she doesn't need to stay away from home too long!

Here's the surgical operation consent form with the rough cost ( will update the official receipt with the final amount when we get her back)

We are also setting up an Instagram account: m.imox , to keep you all easily updated of her post-op,recovery progress and of-course of her day to day life in the house~

Again, we thank you all for your generous support! Makes our heart so warm and fuzzy with the supports and comments given to Mimo!
