Help me write my first book!

Hey thanks for stopping by! I'm working on writing my very first book right now, I'm currently trying to raise money to cover my costs for writing and publishing my first book. I've always enjoyed the fiction realm of literature and have been looking at writing a book for quite some time now. I've finally decided to take the plunge and go for it. unfortunately I'm a college graduate with bills and so my budget is severely limited when it comes to writing and paying for editors. The book itself is set at a uncertain time in the near future. Its told in a almost journal like method from the perspective of the protagonist who is searching for a loved one in a semi-apocalyptic time. Its not what you would call a zombie type story however there are some similarities. I'm also focusing on when I finish and publish this book online it will be at a price of $0.00 and will be DRM free. my goal is not to make money over this book but to get my name out there and also finally put this story to paper. The story is set sometime in the near future and will be centering around a young man and the mental struggles he has while trying to find a loved one as well as learning to cope with being alone even while being surrounded by others. being that this is a science fiction book there are definitely some changes going on in the natural world around our protagonist. These changes will be proving a ever more dangerous challenge as he searches.
