Campaign Story
I am a second year student at the University of Cape Town currently studying a bachelor of arts majoring in Linguistics and Mandarin. My studies are funded by a government loan scheme called NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme). My mother earns a minimum wage and has two children and an entire family to support with her income and my father is unfortunately unemployed. I work as a waitress part-time which helps me take care of any personal expenses such as buying toiletries, clothes, etc, but due to the workload at university I can only work two shifts a week making it impossible to raise funds on my own. I am calling out to anyone out there who may be able to assist me in raising funds to take a TEFL course taking place at UCT on the 17th of July. This will be my golden ticket to teach English as a foreign language in Asian countries when I complete my degree. My loan agreement with NSFAS does not allow me to receive funding for additional courses. Taking this course would be a dream come true for me as it would open doors for me to kick start my career. Donations of up to any amount will be highly appreciated.
