Campaign Story
Since I was young I prepared myself to get ahead by studying hard until I graduated as teacher. After working for 25 years, I thought I was all set for a comfortable retirement. Little I knew my country would fall appart quickly under a terrible government that destroyed our country.
Over 5 millions of Venezuelans have had to flee our country in a refugee crisis that is the world biggest (after the Syrian war refugee crisis).
Our family had to flee to Colombia and we lost nearly everything. We had to start all over doing something else. I am not young any more but I am not afraid of hard work. I decided to set up a sewing shop making cute handmade products for the home. Aside from a small sewing machine a bought from meager savings, I don't have the resources to buy the equipment I need to produce on a scale that would allow me to support myself and my family. You can see some of the items in the photo gallery, that I have made for selling locally and online.
There is great need among the Venezuelan refugee community and I want to buy two additional sewing machines, display cabinets and supplies to give employment to other women that have little or no income.
When you chip-in with whatever you can, remember you are helping long term refugee women support themselves and their children.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my campaign and may God bless you
