Help me secure a better future through education + medical needs!

My name is Jessica and I need your help to secure a better future.

As a product of a loveless marriage, I was abused physically and verbally since young. Many days go by without food on the table and with nothing but bruises on my skin. I was told that I am blessed to have a roof over my head. From a young age of 8, I have had devised ways to visit distant relatives to exchange menial housework for simple meals. With little relations, visits to the relatives too consists of arrays of abuse, luckily, most days I managed to escape unscathed. Soon after, my parents were divorced and I was then bounced from home to home where abuse is again, commonplace. At age 13, I managed to secure minimum wage as a fast food worker. Since then, I have been working while putting myself through high school. During my free time, I have volunteered teaching other low-income kids and provided anxiety and suicidal counseling for people in need.

For the past year after graduating from high school, I have moved out of the system, had rented a place to stay and was working full-time to raise the downpayment for college. However, an accident sustained at work caused my hearing to be impacted - I am unable to work for the last 5 months, depleting my college funds.

I was close to reaching my downpayment amount before my accident. Regardless, I am not beaten down. Teachers often told me that I have the ability to study and I want to be the first person in my family to go to college, so that I am better educated and able to secure a future for myself. I may have fell many times along the way, more than I can count and I know I am not the only one. My goal is to help people in need the way that I am but I cannot help anyone if I cannot help myself.

Moving forward, I also have upcoming medical tests to undergo for my injury that costs $700 (subsidised) for a scan. And I would also need a hearing aid which costs a few thousand dollars. College is starting in 3 months and the first payment costs $15,000 out of $30,000 in total. I am budgeting $10,000 for my medical needs. I am hopeful to start working again in a year, so that I am able to make second payment of $15,000 for college, hence I hope to be able to raise $25,000 the next few months. I am now bunking in with a friend who kindly spare a meal a day for me. I have went through the homeless path and I wish not to return to it again.

Hence, GoGetFunding is my absolute last resort: there are people who are worse off out there I know, but I seek your help.. for a chance for a better future.
