Campaign Story
I am a 53 year old, full-time law student, currently studying for a Dip.Law in Paralegal Studies through the University of South Africa (UNISA). I have three semesters to complete, but am unable to afford tuition fees. I need your help to achieve my goal.
I have devoted the last 15 years of my life to voluntary free community service and have acquired some practical experience as a paralegal, assisting both individuals and communities in South Africa with access to basic legal advice and assistance. I wish to formalise that experience with a Diploma in Paralegal Studies, in order to better equip me to continue to offer basic legal support to individuals and communities, who cannot afford access to formal legal services.
My primary goal has always been to establish a non-profit Paralegal Advice Centre that offers free, practical assistance on basic legal issues, including but not limited to social welfare, employment disputes, infringement of and discrimination against personal legal and constitutional rights, mediation of inter-communal conflict, organising community development initiatives aimed at restoring justice, and promoting human rights education.
