HELP ME PUBLISH MY FIRST BOOK IN ENGLISH

My name is Jitka, and I’m a Czech citizen. Let me tell you, I went through a lot of nasty stuff when I moved to Australia to achieve my biggest goal and dream. To write and publish a book in English. When I finally gained the language skill level that allowed me to write good fiction, only one step was left for me. I need to humbly ask you for your financial support to get the money for a great editor that would polish my style and check all the grammar thorough the book before I get it self-published on Amazon. The rest of the money would be used for the propagation.

Writing a book was always my biggest and dearest dream since I was a kid. When I grew up, I learnt that writing in my mother tongue Czech will never make me a writer; the Czech book market is simply too small. Pretty soon, I knew I needed to write books in English.

I grew up in deep communism in Czechoslovakia, and we had to learn Russian at school. It was fun, and I was pretty good at it. But when I was 16, the Velvet revolution, fortunately, took over, and the whole world opened to us. In my early twenties, I started to learn English, but it’s harder to learn a new language when already an adult without any opportunity to practice.

In the Czech Republic, I worked as an Art Director, in Marketing and Project Management. I worked hard on my skills to do so. When I was 40, I decided to go for my dream now or never. With an Australian Student Visa, I moved to Australia, and while allowed to work 20hrs per week only, I started from the very bottom. As a cleaner in a shopping centre and at an entertaining arena, I cleaned people’s poo, vomit and littering. As a baker in a bakery, I’d been standing in my 40cm² place for 10 hours. I was yelled at by strange people to whom I didn’t do anything wrong during all these. I was bullied by my boss. My Visa status allowed me to keep quiet and not complain to the officials. No need to feel sorry for me. I knew what I expected when I started my Australian journey. Fortunately, after some time, I started to work as a sales assistant at Lowes and finally improved my English after 5 extremely difficult years down under.

Now my very first book in English is written. I call it We Are Sisters. My main character Katy is your average woman in her thirties that is looking to find her place in the world. This is a women’s world with most of the possible types of relationships with men. There is love, domestic violence, and death. The message is that life’s main ingredients are love, hate, and sex. We all have a way how to deal with them.
