Help Me Cover My Medical Expenses & Get Back To Educational Activities Insha'Allah

My Story:

Assalamu alaikum! I'm a 31 years old Muslim convert from Estonia. In 2020 I got infected with coronavirus and although first it wasn't anything too bad, I developed Long Covid and my health started to get worse, especially since last summer. It has got so bad that I feel unwell and extremely fatigued most of the time now. I haven't been able to work or do almost anything useful for months now and it only keeps getting worse.

To give you a better understanding of what Long Covid (also known as post-Covid syndrome) is, here's the World Health Organization's definition of it: “post-COVID-19 condition occurs in individuals with a history of probable or confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, usually 3 months from the onset, with symptoms that last for at least 2 months and cannot be explained by an alternative diagnosis. Common symptoms include, but are not limited to, fatigue, shortness of breath, and cognitive dysfunction, and generally have an impact on everyday functioning. Symptoms might be new onset following initial recovery from an acute COVID-19 episode or persist from the initial illness. Symptoms might also fluctuate or relapse over time.”

As mentioned before, in my case general unwell feeling and extreme fatigue have been the worst symptoms, but I've also been dealing with serious cognitive issues ("brain fog": trouble remembering words/names, trouble focusing on any mental task, trouble following a conversation & general inability to think clearly), chest pain, tinnitus. Also, having been dealing with all this for over a year now as well as the financial issues not being able to work has lead me to has also lead me to a pretty serious depression, which is actually quite common for people suffering from Long Covid.

What Do I Need Your Help With?

I got an appointment to start H.E.L.P. Apheresis treatment in a Long Covid centre in Cyprus and I got my first doctor's appointment for the week starting with 16th of may and after the initial consultation and blood tests the treatment itself will begin a few days after that insha'Allah.

It's a promising but quite an expensive treatment, with the cost of one treatment session being 1600 euros and the patients typically needing at least several to start seeing improvements. I plan to do 5 sessions (thus total cost €8000) and if I see improvements then maybe go back for some more later. I am also planning to do HBOT (hyper baric oxygen therapy) treatment there. I plan to do 15 sessions so with one session being 150 euros that'll be €2250 in total. (You may read more about HBOT's efficiency for treating Long Covid here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34862223/ )

This means that the total direct costs of the treatment will be €10,250. And only paying these direct treatment costs is what I'm seeking your help with. I have already paid for the plane tickets as well as accommodation for 5 weeks & insha'Allah I'll be finding other ways to cover all other expenses during my stay there such as blood tests, medication prescribed alongside the treatment etc.

GoGetFunding site allows me to withdraw money even before the full goal has been reached which is why I set up the ending date as 30 days since the launch so this way insha'Allah I'll be able to use some of the funds soon after getting to Cyprus, giving more time for the full goal to be reached.

Why Help Me & What Will I Do In Return After Getting Better Insha'Allah?

I have a lot of ideas for important Dawah activities in Estonia but not the health to do it. Insha'Allah if you help me pay for the treatment and I get to become active in dawah again, you'll not only be rewarded for helping your sick Muslim brother, but you'll also share the reward of all of my future good deeds in the Dawah field insha'Allah.

Below is the minimum of what I will do directly in return for your collective help insha'Allah after getting better:

1. Receive at least 10 student groups in the Estonian Islamic Centre (in the capital Tallinn).
2. Deliver at least 10 Friday sermons, at least half of them in the Estonian Islamic Centre.
3. Do at least 10 visits to Muslim inmates in different prisons of Estonia.
4. Start an Estonian language YouTube channel and start creating Islamic content in Estonian (at least 20 videos).
5. Set up a dawah table/tent at least 10 times in different cities of Estonia giving people a chance to get free materials about Islam and more importantly a chance to discuss Islamic topics in their native language with an Estonian Muslim.

I would also like to add that I really don't feel comfortable asking for help and I'm more used to raising funds for causes that help other people but I don't really any other way at the time being to cover these medical expenses.
