Help me get my life back

Please help me get my life back by helping me get an Automatic car.

Not many people know this about me, but I am TERRIFIED of driving. After about 10 years, I finally got the courage to pass my Automatic car license, but with no car. This is the end of the story, let us start at the beginning.

I have always wanted to work with animals. When I was five years old, my father asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I looked at him and said: "I don't want to be something; I want to do something." My father replied with a bewilderment: "What's that baby?" "I want to save animals," a 5-year-old girl had a dream. As a college student, I remember procrastinating on projects to watch videos of animal activists changing the world. Like heroes, and warriors in battle. I remember thinking, "That's the dream. How do I get there? How do I help? It's only a dream, though; I will work hard and compromise in the end." I worked through my education and landed in the wrong field. Compromising and ups and downs tend to lead to that. I survived crisis after crisis until I made the decision to take my life back and leapt into my first experience across international borders at Big Cat Rescue. They inspired and ignited my passion. Threw fuel on the burning fire in my heart to keep fighting the cause.

Volunteering here, you stay on property, so you don't need a car and it's not like I could afford one anyway. There I stayed for 3 years, as a volunteer, never receiving any money—just the love and passion for the cats.

I came back to South Africa and found my dream job at Animal Defenders International—a job where I not only work with animals but also get to document and educate through media. I could train volunteers and make their lives better. One animal at a time.

Here I also stayed on the property, so a car was not required.

Unfortunately, COVID hit, and alongside the pandemic's effects on the world, my mother needed to have a procedure on her neck. I quit my job and moved back home to be with her during the lockdown and take care of her.

During the lockdown, I edited videos for income, but my soul was dying. I needed to be around animals again. That's when I landed on SANCCOB.

I had NO idea how much I was going to fall in love with those little, feisty tuxedos. Every minute I am at SANCCOB, I enjoy it. It's my happy place!

The 3 years I have been at SANCCOB, have opened my mind to so many incredible training opportunities and experiences. You need a person who can take their passion and love for these birds and teach, and mentor others to have that same love. Being at SANCCOB, for the first years I also didn't need a car, I was a volunteer who stayed close by. I learned a lot at both ADI and SANCCOB. I was with SANCCOB for 3 years. Volunteering, never receiving money. I did it for the love and passion I had for the birds.

Now I left SANCCOB with very little money, as I have been volunteering half of my adult life and I can't get ANY job without having a car.

Please help me buy my car, even with a R10 donation. Every little bit will help.

Honestly, after a decade of volunteering my time, I can say, in the most humblest of ways, I need a break.

In my bio, you will see a link to a video I made. I bought 50 watermelons, wrapped them myself, put species in them, and gave them to the big cats as Christmas presents.
