This summer I am planning a homestay in Japan with the Texas Education and Culture Exchange (http://www.texasglobaleducation.org/index.php/en/). I will be staying with a Japanese Family in Osaka from July 10 toAugust 7th.
WHY DO I WANT TO GO?
My dream career is to be an English teacher in Japan! I do not know how long I will participate in this field, but I do know that it will require me to live in Japan for a few years. This homestay will be a stepping stone for me in experience with the culture, language, and people.
WHAT AM I DOING TO GET THERE?
I am attending a dual credit college program that is allowing me to finish high school and graduate with Associates Degree in the same two years. To do this, I am required to take 31 credit hours of college classes per semester (http://www.richlandcollege.edu/rchs/). One of the classes I attend is a Japanese Language course. I also take an extra Japanese langauge course outside of school every week (https://sites.google.com/site/fwjapaneselanguageschool/).
I have three jobs; Claire's, Hot Topic, and a sushi resturant called Big Fish. The sushi resturant is run by native Japanese, who are helping me further with the Japanese langauge. I also am a member of the local Japanese Cultural Society (http://www.fwjs.org/), which allows me to be a part of local Japanese festivals.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
I can not do this without YOU! I need to raise $3500 for the Texas Global Education and Cultural Exchange Summer Program. I would also like to raise $500 for personal spending and reward offers.
**This is thelast year I can be part of this program. This is a student program and I am turning 18.**
WHAT WILL YOU GET?
- I will be keeping monthly updates of the preperation and the experance of the trip. [via YouTube, I will post links here]
- Depending on the $$$ you spend, I will give back to you!
