Help me clear debt which isn’t mine.

I've been told so many times I'm too nice and unfortunately this time I've learnt a very hard lesson a very hard way.

Nearly two years ago friends of mine were going through financial difficulty which meant they would possibly loose their house. They have children and I couldn't sit back and watch that happen. They needed an injection of money and quickly. I remortgaged mine and my partners property and managed to raise 40k. Unfortunately I wasn't properly aware of how bad the situation was. So I helped with credit cards and a further 8.5k.

I had a full time job so was happy I could pay the debt off. I fell pregnant and unfortunately I have now been made redundant with 15 weeks to go till I give birth, also my baby will need quiet a few operations when it's born which means I won't be able to return to work. I've asked my friends to help return some of the money ive helped them with but have got no where. I feel sooo sick with worry.

All I've done is try to help and now I need the help there is no one to turn to. If there is any help at all that I can get to clears some of the card debts I would be grateful.
