Help Matthew pay for studies at UFS

My name is Matthew Eshun and I am an international student from Ghana. I studied for my Bachelor's degree in Music at the University of Ghana from 2010-2014 and thereafter dedicated about 4 years to helping students better their knowledge in music, especially in violin playing.

Having started playing the violin very late in my second year in University at the age of 20 years, I spent my time inspiring younger kids about playing music which I have done until this day. So in collaboration with some very dear friends, we set up a music school called GeniusHive - an NGO whose aim was to teach music to kids while setting up orchestras, the first of which was the Kinder paradise orchestra. I volunteered and worked with orphanages to bring the joy of classical music to children who otherwise may have never had the opportunity to learn an instrument.

In 2017, I gained admission to study an Honors in Violin Performance at the Odeion School of Music in the University of The Free State - South Africa which I began in 2018 and completed in 2019 mostly self-funded. I then decided to pursue a Master's program in Research in 2020. However, after receiving 1-year funding for studies amidst the pandemic, it has become exceedingly difficult to secure funding for my final year 2022 as an international student. International students are required to pay the full amount before they can register for the academic year (ZAR 33,370). As registration for postgraduate students ends at the close of March, your donations will help pay my tuition and registration fees, so I do not have to make the hard choice of differing my studies to a later date.

Completing this Master's degree will be a life-changing experience as it will help further my career in research while continuing to inspire many young kids back home about music.
