On the 27th of August 2018, we found out that our dear mother and wife, Mary, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, it is in early stages, so the prognosis is good for her survival!
So far, Mary has been through multiple scans, a lumpectomy surgery and node dissection, where the surgeon removed some nodes to discover if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. They found a micro-met in 1 of the 3 lymph nodes, which means that there is still cancer in her body despite the surgery.
To give Mary the best possible chance of survival, she will be going through a course of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and hormone therapy. This treatment will take around 6 months in total. During this time, she will need care-taking, and a lot of support and love.
As we all know, Mary is a very fit, independent woman who is always available to help others in need. She lives a humble Catholic life, always serving others selflessly and contributing to the sick, needy, outcasts, and community. Now, she needs your help.
What Will Funds Be Used For?
While medisave and government subsidies have covered some of treatment so far, there are further medical expenses and living expenses creating a heavy burden. Douglas will no longer be able to work driving Grab, so that he can stay home to care for Mary as best as he can, to support her as she goes through this journey. He is not in the best health to do so, with a torn shoulder and other ailments. They require some help with some medical bills, basic living costs and a helper to take care of cooking, cleaning, and looking after Mary.
Please open your heart and your generosity to help Mary and Douglas as they bravely fight cancer, hopefully once and for all! Any amount helps out a lot. Thank you so much.
