Campaign Story
Madison is a 7 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi belonging to Kristi and Carol Procaccino. Kristi came to Bandit’s BandAid in mid December when Madison was diagnosed with lymphoma. At that time the vet stated that Madison might have no more than a month unless she received steroid therapy and/or chemotherapy. Kristi was provided with some options for her treatment costing between $3,000 and $7,000. However we were not satisfied with the level of testing or care that she had gotten at this particular hospital so we agreed to work with Kristi to find a top notch veterinary oncologist to conduct a proper diagnosis and develop a treatment plan for her.
Madison has now been admitted to the NorthStar Vets hospital where
she will have blood work, x-rays and an ultrasound to assess the staging
of the lymphoma and determine the best treatment. Madison’s owners
have used up their resources dealing with the initial diagnostics and
Carlo has not been working because his landscape employer shut down
operations for the winter. Because time is of the essence to
successfully treat this disease we have moved forward with the
assessment and will update this page when we have additional
information.

I’m keeping Madison in my most sincere prayers. Our pups provide us with such unconditional love, it only seems right that we protect them when we can.

January 10 Update
Update posted by Carol Young at 04:32 amMadison has now been to the veterinary specialty center twice. Her first appointment was to undergo further testing to determine the staging of the lymphoma and to develop the proper treatment plan. The decision was made to use the CHOP protocol, a multi-drug treatment that is given weekly or bi-monthly. . . . .
