Campaign Story
Kate Huh has been making queer visual art and films on NYC's Lower East Side since the early 1980s. She's a tireless activist and documentarian of resistance movements and queer community. Kate is also a kind and generous friend, who is now in need of some help.
On January 27th, Kate broke her fibula. After a week, the doctors determined that Kate would need surgery in order to heal. Now Kate's got a plate in her ankle and orders to stay off her foot.
Kate will be unable to work for about 3 months, and has very limited paid sick time available. She will be on short-term disability, which will cover part of her rent. The funds being raised will cover basic expenses (rent, bills, food) as well as medical costs that are not covered by insurance.
In these troubled times, we need to work as a community to make sure Kate gets back on her feet & back to giving 'em hell in the streets! Please give what you can, and send lots of love and healing wishes her way
