Help Joy reach her dreams to become a nurse!

Black Bean Productions has created a film for a young woman named Joy, who had to run away from an on-going abusive marriage in Zimbabwe - with her 3 week old baby - in the middle of the night.

Joy is safe now in Cape Town but does have dreams of going back to education and of becoming a nurse. She is a very determined and brave young woman, who has re-shaped the narrative of her life, through a huge amount of courage.

Please watch our film so you have more of an understanding of what Joy had to go through and what she overcame. GBV is very real and sadly it is particularly terrible in poverty stricken areas.

We have created this film to raise awareness around GBV but also to help Joy reach her dream to become a nurse in Zambia.

Highly appreciated funds will be paying for 3 years of nursing education, a study permit, accommodation at the university, general living costs and childcare for Joy's young infant. In addition, the production company Black Bean who created this pro-bono film would also like to get some funds back from making and editing this film.
