Help Jes complete her MSc Physiotherapy in England!

Hello Friends, Family & Loved Ones!

As many of you know, I just finished my Honours Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology at Lakehead University. This past year I dedicated myself solely to my academics and earned myself a spot on the Dean’s list with my 3.9/4.0 GPA. Despite a rigorous and costly application process, I was not accepted to any of the Physiotherapy programs offered among Canadian Universities; although I was accepted to Medical School in Toronto for a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. Determined not to give up on my dream, I have decided to pursue my Masters of Science within Physiotherapy overseas!!! I applied to 6 Universities across England and received an offer of admissions from all of them thus far! I am extremely excited about studying abroad as I feel it is opportunity to gain a new perspective on my education and will be a once in a lifetime experience. Most importantly, this degree will allow me to further my professional skills and create an international network of colleagues and friends.

Why Physiotherapy?

I have chosen to study physiotherapy because of the interest in rehabilitative medicine that I have developed through undergraduate studies in Kinesiology. Furthermore, having been treated by various physiotherapists as a result of my sports injuries over the years, I developed a high level of respect for the profession. Through physiotherapy I have received individual care, which focused on the improvement of my mobility, relief of pain and rehabilitation of my functional independence. These are the characteristics I would like to emulate in my future career as a physiotherapist.

As a professional Physiotherapist, I would be able to treat others who are experiencing physical dysfunction resulting from injury or illness, practice alongside with other health professionals, develop specialized areas of interest and hopefully set up my own practice. Most importantly this degree will enable me to enter a profession that I am passionate about studying and looking forward to working in for many years.

Financial Support is Needed!

As with all higher education, there is a substantial financial burden involved. I have set up this fundraising platform in hopes that you may wish to help send me to the UK and help contribute to furthering my education. As the saying goes “Many hands make light work," and I kindly ask that if you are able, I would greatly appreciate any contribution you would be willing to make. Your contribution will help subsidize the extremely high cost of tuition as an international student and enable me to have a strong financial backing as I apply for my international student Visa.
