₱271.00raised of ₱200,000.00 goal goal
Day care centers are usually considered as secondary home for nursery pupils aged 4 years old and below. The same's true for the eager nursery pupils of Casat II Day Care Center, Barangay Casat, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.
Casat II Day Care Center started as an informal day care learning center made up of an open nipa hat with a blackboard. The then teacher, Ms. Agnes started the center with the help and initiative of the indigent people of Purok 6, Barangay Casat, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. The nipa hut was built with simple farm tools and was situated beside the Purok Plaza in a donated farmland.
The need to establish the learning center arised from the problems being encountered by the nursery pupils together with their guardians for traveling almost 5km daily to the nearest Day Care Center. Having an able teacher around and a donated farmland paved way to the construction of a simple yet functional learning hub for the pupils.
To keep the learning center from closing, guardians and parents of the nursery pupils were required to donate at least Php50.00/month for 10months until graduation or moving up. The money will serve for the learning materials as well as salary of the teacher. With almost 10 students, the teacher will be receiving at most Php500.00/month (approximately $10) as her salary, less her expenditures.
Soon enough, the Local Government of Brgy. Casat assisted in aiding for the compensation of the teacher and some supplies for the learning. Today, with the help of the Municipal Government and Municipal Social Welfare and Development, pupils are veing provided with food supplies for feeding. Fund raising activities initiated by the Purok people aided with the provision of electricity and refrigerator for the food supplies from the MSWD.
Years passed and the nipa hut was improved with the use of scrap construction materials readily available around the center. And with the initiative of the parents and guardians, small improvements were made from walls to classroom decorations. The building stands with great pride despite of its current situation, serving as the secondary home of our dear nursery pupils.
Everything but a conducive learning environment are being provided for our dear nursery pupils of Casat II Day Care Center. Let us help hand in hand in providing a functional and sustainable building for our dear pupils!
