Dear all ,

It is very unfortunate to share you that my dad Ng Ki Fung was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia or Blood Cancer on Feb 2018. He underwent strong chemotherapy for six months, it was hard to understand that he has gone through several cycles chemotherapy and he quickly get worse because his disease relapsed for this year. In fact my father's body has became weak after the several cycles chemotherapy and the doctor said that my father respond poorly and he must take the Azacitidine and Venetoclax to help increase blood cell counts and possibly put leukemia into remission. Worse still, Azacitidine and Venetoclax are self financed medical items in HK and the monthly cost is HKD$67,136. The doctor anticipates my father to take the targeted therapy for 3 months into remission since he is gradually weakened and this is the optimal therapy which is effective and well tolerated for him.

Azacitidine is administered subcutaneously for 3 months = HKD$ 37,968

(The monthly cost is HKD$12,656 )

Venetoclax for 3 months = HKD$163,440

(The monthly cost is HKD$54,480)

The total cost is HKD$ 201,408 for targeted therapy (Azacitidine and Venetoclax) in 3 months.

This is a shocking news for us since the disease made inroads upon our savings. Moreover, my father is unemployment and I make the time to take care him thus I converted to part time employee since last year.

As days passed by, we watched helplessly while his health deteriorated with his weight falling below 100 pounds. His hemoglobin is still low even if they have transfused several bags of blood recently. He cannot sleep and complains about bone pain. The kind of cancer in which the bone marrow starts making abnormal blood cells and having these cells spread all throughout the body. This is the kind of leukemia that gets worse rapidly if not treated immediately. He's chance of survival depends so much on this treatment.

NOW URGENTLY looking for your help.

Once the disease remission is achieved and the doctor will arrange allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Therefore, your support in the form of donation or prayers will be highly appreciated. Every little bit counts. All your donations will go directly to his medical costs and on-going treatments.

Alternatively, the website charge for 4% fee, so please direct transfer donations to Hong Kong accounts if you can, please see details here:

We sincerely thank you for taking the time to read this. It will be a long and challenging road ahead, but my father is positive and he wants to fight.

NG NGA WUN
