Campaign Story
''We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.'' ~Maya Angelou
Globally, black girls and women are disproportionately impacted by social issues; and, it is the mission of Black Global Girls Exchange (BGGE) to shape the lives of young girls as future global leaders to change this disheartening reality.
BGGE is a movement focused on peer learning and cross-cultural exchange, bringing the experiences of shared humanity to black girls- from 3 different countries and 2 continents - through a celebration of the arts and service while promoting intercultural understanding. In this inaugural year, 20 girls in grades 8-12 from Baltimore, MD will be traveling to Johannesburg and Swaziland to collaborate and exchange with their Swazi and South African peers, in commemoration of Women’s History Month from March 23rd - April 1st - to begin changing the narrative.
