Our GoGetFunding campaign is about enabling the Global rural community to respond to the Syrian crisis in a meaningful way by organising the collection of winter coats for distribution in Syria. If you live outside the UK you can play a part by donating today to help with transportation costs etc.
Members of the farming, hunting and shooting communities are noted for their effective winter clothing! Perfectly good clean, warm, waterproof coats hanging unused on hooks in homes across the UK. Children’s’ coats that have been outgrown, or 2nd or 3rd spare coats that are never worn. A waterproof winter coat that if it was your family you would like to receive yourselves. These coats could be helping to save lives in Syria.
In association with the Charity Syria Relief, we enable the farming, shooting and hunting communities to gather those unused coats to central locations, from which we will send them to Syria Relief’s base in Manchester and Syria Relief will have them shipped out via an established pipeline to the region for distribution to those families who need them in Syria. Many of whom are displaced members of the rural community.
We are collecting coats across the UK and we need your help via GoGetFunding to help contribute to the transportation costs to get these winter coats from the UK . At the Syrian boarder very brave Syrians who work with Syria Relief drive to the border to collect the coats and distribute them to Syrian families who have been displaced within Syria.
The Rt Hon Liz Truss MP, Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, endorses Country Coats to Syria:
“CountryCoats2Syria is a fantastic initiative, which sees the rural community coming together to offer a practical response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
“With winter fast approaching, the simple gift of a coat could make a real difference to people on the ground. I wish the initiative every success and hope everyone will give generously.”
