In July 2019 I moved to Bulgaria to escape the rat race and enjoy the quiet life, I moved to a small town where my sister and her husband live. All was ok until around January 2020 when I started to get pain in my lower back and hip area along with really bad bouts of having no energy. Initially I was told it was rheumatoid arthritis and given tablets for that, however it soon became apparent that something else was wrong as I woke one morning to find that both my hands had swollen to an enormous extent and were covered in what looked like blood blisters, after having various tests it was decided I had Vasculitis, which it turns out was affecting my immune system and also how my kidneys were functioning, hence the lower back pains.
On a visit to a specialist in a nearby city I collapsed in the street and was rushed to hospital and told I needed emergency dialysis there and then or I would die. In fact the doctors have saved my life on two occasions now.
During the following months I spent a long time in hospital undergoing various tests and receiving multiple blood transfusions etc' which all, including the blood had to be paid for.
In July this year I had surgery to place a catheter into my abdomen to allow me to perform Peritoneal Dialysis at home (this alone cost 1750) and I now need monthly supplies for this (which I also have to get couriered to my home) together with a monthly prescription of eight different medications and also syringes for self injection, which will be an ongoing cost on top of a monthly health insurance payment which itself only covers the basics.
The money I came with which would have initially seen me through while I looked at possible incomes has been devoured by the medical bills this far, which is my reasoning for starting this page, any money raised will be used solely to repay money borrowed and to help cover ongoing medical expenses for as long as possible.
