Campaign Story
Our grandmother, Zenaida Belmonte-Monteagudo, 79 years old, whom we fondly call Lola Doppie and whom many people know as the teacher and mentor Ma'am Doppie, has been in the ICU for almost three weeks now.
Three weeks ago, she was attending a religious conference in Tagaytay (Philippines) two hours away from home. While walking down the stairs, she slipped and hit her head which caused severe internal bleeding inside her skull. She had to immediately undergo brain surgery in the nearest hospital. She also had to undergo a tracheostomy, a procedure to create an opening through the neck, to help with her breathing. She is also currently under a lot of medication to treat her brain injury and other complications like pneumonia and infection.
The criticality of her condition makes it difficult for her to be transferred to a hospital closer to home so aside from hospital bills, our family also has to consider finding a place near the hospital to stay in the mean time until our Lola can fully recover. The doctors told us that it could possibly take 6 months for her to recover.
Due to this huge difficulty, our family is knocking on your kind hearts to help us raise funds for our Lola Doppie's current hospital bills and support her medical needs/assistance to continue her fight. Our Lola Doppie has the strongest spirit and has always been the source of our family's strength. Any amount would be a BIG HELP for our Lola's spirit to keep on fighting.
