Campaign Story
Hello, my name is Jon Boyd Timtim, a grandson of Miguela P. Timtim, the mother of Glynda Timtim-Descuatan, Lola Guiling as we call her. She is 91 years old and the matriarch of our family. Last November 3rd, when she was scheduled for her regular dialysis treatment, she had difficulty breathing within the session, so we decided to have her admitted at the same hospital where she had her dialysis - Silliman University Medical Center Foundation Inc. (SUMCFI). An RT-PCR test was performed and returned with a COVID-19 positive result. She is now in critical care and was recently moved to the Intensive Care Unit to be monitored round-the-clock. She doesn't have any family member with her because she is in isolation and this has also affected her physical and mental well-being. She is now undergoing Hemoperfusion-a method of filtering the blood to remove COVID toxins that causes cytokine storm among critically ill COVID patients. This procedure is extremely costly at around (Php 50,000 per session), with planned three(3) sessions. As of this time, the bill is already more than P300,000 pesos. This is the bill when she was still at the Emergency Room holding area, and the isolation room, not yet at CCU and Intensive Care. My lola is a caring and loving person. Last November 4, we lost Manong Gogo (Alfredo T. Descuatan III), after 24 years of being bedridden, where my Lola Guiling had been a major part of his care. She does not even know that Manong Gogo has passed away. She has stepped up to take care for her grandchildren, including myself, when our parents were having difficulty making both ends meet. We owe it to her to do our very best to help her battle this dreadful disease so she can fully recover. We can only do so much in shouldering the cost of hospitalization and treatments as our resources are depleted, and my Mommy Glynda is now retired. We are knocking on your kind hearts to help us, in one way or another, pay for the huge hospital bills and to continue to pray that the Good Lord will heal our Lola and she will be back to the care of her family.

Update on Lola Guiling
Update posted by Jon Boyd Timtim at 10:51 am12/11/2021 - Her Hemoperfusion did not work in removing the COVID toxins from her body. Continuing the Hemodialysis did not also help her oxygen levels; for her nutrition, the family decided to have her on NGT. We are continuing to deeply pray for her condition to improve.
