Update: Thank you to the friends and anonymous donors who have donated to date towards the purchase of a round trip ticket to Italy's international lyric academy. I am now over halfway to my goal and would still appreciate donations and shares. Thank you!
here are some extra videos of me performing:
Hi everybody! My name is Clayton Williams. I'm currently studying oboe performance at the University of North Texas. In march, I auditioned for the International Lyric Academy, a 2 week long opera festival in Tarquinia, Italy, and was accepted on the spot! At the festival I will get the opportunity to play Mozart's "The Marriages of figaro" and perform in a series's of chamber music concerts.
I have been awarded a scholarship that covers the full cost of tuition and housing for the duration of the festival. So while the cost to attend is practically nothing, I still have to purchase a round trip plane ticket to italy, which will cost somewhere between $1,500-2,000 depending on when I get the opportunity to purchase them. I also will need to pay for transportation from Rome, where the nearest airport is, to Tarquinia.
My parents have told me they will help me out with the costs of attending the festival all that they can, but I know how much of a burden
