We are building a shelter for Dogs!

My Story

For the past 10 years, I have been a foster mother for abandoned and disabled street pups. I have managed to care and rehome over a 1000 puppies within this time. But unfortunately not all puppies get adopted, and I have been left with over 50 dogs of all shapes and sizes over the years. I have cared for these dogs as best I can for as long as I could.

It has come to a point where I cannot accommodate all of them in my small backyard in Colombo (where I currently live). My neighbors complain and it it would be better for the dogs themselves to have a bigger space to run around in freely.

What we need your help to do

Therefore we are very much in need of some kind help in constructing an additional shelter in our land in Veyangoda, Sri Lanka.

As of now, we have a small space already made which is housing about 30 dogs presently. But it is being expanded with an additional shelter to accomodate 30 more dogs who will be moved away from Colombo to the shelter once it is completed.

The enclosure will house over 60 dogs, it will have a fence around the perimeter and a shelter area for the dogs to sleep. Along with the enclosure we are trying to build a small house for the caretakers of the animals. Who must live alongside in order to feed and clean the spaces.
