Help Brittany Parkes Become A Police Officer!

Hello There!

My name is Brittany Parkes, I'm 24 years old and it is my DREAM to become a local police officer in my community. I love to help people and I want to make a difference in my community as well as the world. It is important to me and I do believe that we need more strong woman to look up to in the police force! Due to life altering events and hardships, I am un able to do this alone, that is why I need your help. At a very young age I got married and while the relationship lasted 6 years, our marriage only lasted 11 months. I made the hardest decision of my life and I left because I was so unhappy, and the guilt I felt for staying with someone because of everyone else around me thinking it was the right thing...made me sick. My life changed. I was suddenly on my own and I had to give up the house we had bought, that's when my debt started. I got into a relationship a few months later and I wasted the next 2 years of my life in a very toxic and verbally abusive relationship. My money problems turned for the worst as the person I was with then, caused a lot of damage and debt and I felt trapped. I ended this relationship which felt so impowering. I've been trying to go through this process of becoming a police officer for the last couple years but unfortunately I had to put it all on hold. The man I am with now is the love of my life. We got unexpectedly pregnant and again I've had to put my dream on the back burner. My son is 4 weeks old right now, I'm currently off work and my partner is supporting us both. To go to school at the Justice Institute in Vancouver, isn't possible without your help. I can't get any type of loan from the bank because of the debt I'm in when I got blind sided with losing my house. I'm now a new mom and I am so passionate and eager to learn. I want to show my son to fight and never give up. I want to show my son that when you fall you always get right back up. It's been so challenging but I'm going to find a way to go to school. I've exhausted all my other options which is why I am here today. I can't afford to leave and go to school, I can't afford to pay for the materials and tests I need. I can't afford to not be able to support my child. So please help send me to school, it's all I've ever wanted. I want to be an example, and the best person I can be for not only my son but my community, to strangers. I want to make a difference.
